USAF student high altitude research pilot Michael Lee undergoing pressure and mobility tests in an altitude chamber while wearing an inflated pressure suit and helmet. The suit is the USAF MC-3 which has an inner rubber bladder totally enclosing the pilot's body from neck to ankles and fitted with pressure boots and gloves, providing pressure over the entire torso and limbs. The helmet is the high altitude MA-2A full-head pressure helmet for use at altitudes in excess of 70000ft. Inside the helmet, the pilot's head is totally enclosed in an inner rubber, inflatable full-head rubber helmet with integral neckseal bladder. Inside the inner helmet are large chamois covered rubber earphones, inflatable pressure bladders and chamois covered padding, with a microphone mounted on the inner padding. The faceplate and its oxygen system has pressure control valves, heated anti-fogging filaments and a self-sealing drink/feed port. The helmet provides constant pressure and oxygen to the pilot's head and face balanced with the pressure suit.
